You are invited to participate in the “Flying Shark Cup” 7th China Graduate Future Flight Vehicle Innovation Competition (International Track), which has been in line with China Postgraduate Innovative & Practice Competitions.

I. Background Introduction

The China Graduate Future Flight Vehicle Innovation Competition (hereinafter referred to as the “Competition”) is one of the theme events of the China Postgraduate Innovative & Practice Competitions. It is guided by “Department of Degree Management & Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education” and “Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, China”, hosted by the “Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education” and the “Children & Youth Science Center of China Association for Science and Technology”, and co-hosted by the “International Astronautical Federation”, “China Space Foundation”, “Chinese Society of Astronautics”, and “Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics”. This competition is organized by Northwestern Polytechnical University.

II. Requirements for the Entries

1.Participants are graduate students studying at home and abroad, and the proportion of international graduate students shall be no less than 40%.

2.Individuals can participate in the competition while participation as a team is encouraged.

3.Each team is made up with a maximum of 5 participants.Inter-college teams and inter-nationality teams are allowed under the condition that they have one leading applicant school.

4.The participating team is represented by the leading applicant’ university.

5.English will be the working language for the competition and  registration, submission of works, finals and all the other related sessions will be conducted in English.

III. Competition Topic, Registration and Submission

1. Theme: Chasing Dreams of Aviation and Aerospace and Challenging the Future

2. Topic: Future Flight Vehicle Design

3. Registration: Fill the required information of team members in the Participants Information Form (Attachment 1) and send it to：ffvc2021int@126.com 

4. Submission: Each team shall submit the project report of  entries (Attachment 2: Template for the Project Report of Entries) via the designated email address：ffvc2021int@126.com. The project report will be the final evaluation material of the competition. Design proposal, digital models, animations, videos, and research reports etc., can be submitted together as attachments. If the work contains physical models, video materials can be provided during the preliminary, and a physical display or video demonstration can be performed during the finals.

The competition will not accept works involving confidential information or intellectual property disputes.

IV. Schedules 

The competition consists of preliminary and final stages. The online review has been employed in the preliminary stage, and on-site defence (for domestic teams) or online defence (for international teams) used in the final.

The specific time arrangement for each stage is subject to the official notification.

V. Awards

Special prizes, first prizes, second prizes and third prizes will be set for entries.

Bonus: Special Prize RMB 50,000 yuan for each project (if available), First Prize RMB 20,000 yuan for each project, Second Prize RMB 10,000 yuan for each project, and Third Prize RMB 2,000 yuan for each project.

Number of Awards: About 10-20 teams.

VI. Intellectual Property and Confidentiality

All entries for the competition should be original and have no intellectual property disputes. Any actual liability for infringement arising out of intellectual property rights shall be borne by the competitors. Protection of the intellectual property rights of all entries depends on the source of the project or related agreements. Competitors can apply for national intellectual property protection for their entries by themselves, and the organizing committee does not involve related matters.

All entries shall not be classified or shall be declassified. Competitors shall bear the responsibility for any disclosure of classified information caused by their works.

VII. Others

The final interpretation right of the competition belongs to the Organizing Committee of the China Graduate Future Flight Vehicle Innovation Competition. Please follow the WeChat official account of the competition for updated information.
